An Alabama man is facing charges after allegedly crashing his motorcycle with his 18-month-old child on board, resulting in the toddler sustaining significant head and facial injuries.

According to court documents, Aaron Lee Roberson, aged 32, was reportedly intoxicated and speeding on February 14 when the accident occurred, as reported by WVTM. Neither Roberson nor the child were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, and he reportedly fled the scene without notifying emergency services.

The court records further reveal that Roberson failed to provide any “reasonable assistance” to the injured toddler following the crash.

Roberson is now facing multiple charges, including assault, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

He has been issued a bond set at $37,000, though he is not currently listed in the Blount County jail records.

All media reprinted a statement they got from police and did not say how police learned of the accident or what the current condition of the child is. They also did not say how they knew Roberson was drunk or speeding, since he wasn’t charged with either of those offenses.
