Man Accused of Murder Following Discovery of Wife and Daughter’s Bodies in Queensland Residence

A man faces charges of double murder after the tragic discovery of his wife and young daughter’s bodies in their Queensland residence last week, shortly after he was involved in a car accident nearby.

Kate Paterson, aged 38, and her one-year-old daughter, April, were found dead with stab wounds at their home in Bannockburn on March 12. The grim discovery came after 38-year-old Blake Seers, the child’s father, was hit by a vehicle just a short distance away.

Police officers, initially attending to Seers’ injuries, visited the home to inform his family, only to uncover the horrific scene. Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn reported that the victims showed “injuries consistent with an edged weapon.”

Seers was subsequently hospitalized in serious condition.

The 38-year-old is now facing charges for two counts of murder, which include an allegation of domestic violence against a child.

He continues to receive medical treatment in hospital and is due to appear in Brisbane court via video link tomorrow.
