In the ongoing custody battle between Mustard and his former spouse Chanel Thierry, the music producer has been temporarily granted decision-making powers.

TMZ reports that a judge has awarded Dijon McFarlane, known professionally as Mustard, the definitive authority on educational decisions for their three children until August 2026.

With this ruling, Mustard now has the final say in educational matters for their kids, Kiylan, Kauner, and Kody, effectively giving him tie-breaking power.

The court also mandated that both parents participate in high-conflict co-parenting therapy sessions.

Despite Mustard’s request for $30,000 in sanctions, the judge chose not to impose any financial penalties.

“It is only for five more months from now, so it’s not permanent, and only for educational decisions,” Thierry’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ.

The ruling comes months after Mustard filed for sole custody in December, raising concerns about Thierry’s recent social media activity and its impact on their co-parenting dynamic.

In court filings, Mustard pointed to several posts he said conflicted with an existing agreement requiring both parents to avoid making negative or disrespectful remarks about one another around their children.

In one post referenced in filings, Thierry wrote, “How did a simple, ‘Can I have the football schedule?’ Turn into you updating your relationship status??! Sir I can give a f*%k less if yall engaged! Congrats! Can someone please send me the mf schedule now!? DAMN!”

She added in another message, “I’m really annoyed. I’ve asked everyone on that side for my baby’s stuff and they keep ignoring me. INSANEEEEEE.”

Mustard’s attorney, Samantha Spector, argued that the posts “negatively impact the best interests” of the children and interfere with effective co-parenting. The court ultimately determined that some of the posts did not align with that order.

The former couple finalized their divorce in 2024 after four years of marriage. As part of the settlement, Thierry received $315,000 in spousal support along with $24,000 per month in child support.
