WCSO Arrests Suspect in Gray Convenience Store Burglary

GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Tuesday, authorities arrested a man from Fall Branch following an alleged break-in and theft at a convenience store in Gray, occurring the day before. The suspect reportedly stole kratom during the incident.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced that 33-year-old Joshua Marcus Blalock faces several charges, including burglary, theft, vandalism, driving with a revoked license, and violating financial responsibility laws.

The WCSO detailed that deputies were dispatched around 5 a.m. on Monday to investigate a reported burglary at a convenience store located in the Gray area.

According to the release, “The front door was shattered, and surveillance footage captured a suspect, later identified as Blalock, removing various boxes of kratom and fleeing in a vehicle.”

Blalock was apprehended shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday while driving along Bristol Highway. Following a traffic stop, officers took him into custody and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is held on a $15,100 bond, according to the WCSO.
