Born on November 4, 1992, Jessa Duggar is the fifth child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
Jessa’s romance with Ben started in a rather traditional way, meeting through their church community and beginning to court in 2013. This approach to relationships, where the couple gets to know each other in group settings, was quite novel to many viewers at the time. Jim Bob Duggar explained to People, “Courting involves both families spending time together and setting goals to determine if marriage is the right path. In contrast, dating often involves a couple spending time alone, which can lead to a more physical relationship.”
In August 2014, Ben proposed to Jessa, marking their engagement by holding her hand for the first time. The couple wed on November 1, 2014. Around this period, while Jessa was expecting their first child, the show 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. TLC then aired a special focusing on sexual abuse featuring Jill and Jessa, which aimed to educate viewers. This led to the sisters starring in their own series, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later evolved into Counting On, including other members of the Duggar family.
The couple welcomed their first son, Spurgeon, on November 5, 2015, followed by their second son, Henry, on February 6, 2017. Their daughter, Ivy Jane, was born on May 28, 2019, and another daughter, Fern, joined the family in July 2021. In February 2023, Jessa revealed she experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holiday season. She later gave birth to a son, George, in December 2023.
By August 2025, Jessa shared the joyful news of the arrival of their son, Edward.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.
