During Thursday’s segment of “The Briefing” on MS NOW, Senator Jon Ossoff from Georgia criticized former President Donald Trump and his administration for treating U.S. military personnel as mere “pawns.”
Host Jen Psaki raised concerns, saying, “As a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, you’re likely aware of public anxiety regarding potential retaliatory attacks and homeland security threats. Given the perceived unpreparedness of the current administration, what assurance can you provide to alleviate these fears?”
Ossoff responded, “There’s no question that the threat level is heightened at this moment, and I often hear these concerns from the public. What’s alarming is the indifferent stance displayed by the White House. In a recent hearing, I pointed out that the president is exploiting images of American soldiers in flag-draped coffins for fundraising emails. This is a shocking demonstration of insensitivity and a profound disrespect for the sacrifices made by service members. It suggests that those in uniform are regarded by the administration as mere tools. Such a viewpoint is utterly disrespectful and unacceptable. In Georgia, where the military presence is significant, we hold deep respect for our defense community. This kind of disregard for the military is not well-received here.”
