Geoff Duncan’s Campaign Trail Hits Augusta: What to Expect on Monday’s Visit

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – On Monday, Georgia gubernatorial hopeful Geoff Duncan visited Augusta, where he addressed supporters at the IBEW Local 1579 located on Reynolds Street.

Duncan, one of three Democratic contenders seeking the nomination, highlighted his previous tenure as lieutenant governor, emphasizing his efforts to enhance healthcare access in rural areas. He pledged that, if elected, his focus would shift to reducing costs in various sectors.

Prior to his campaign event, Duncan took the opportunity to visit NewsChannel 6 to discuss his future plans.

“Listen, 90% of Georgians are clear about their stance on commonsense gun laws, including universal background checks, red flag laws, and safe storage laws at home. As governor, I aim to spearhead these initiatives and provide political support to Republicans willing to back these sensible measures,” Duncan stated. “I aspire to have some of them co-sign this legislation because it aligns with public sentiment. It’s just common sense. We should never have to witness another mass shooting on TV and think it could have been prevented with straightforward laws already available.”
