Salvation Army of Johnson City Invites Community to Open House Highlighting Veteran Support Initiatives

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Salvation Army in Johnson City organized an Open House at The Center of Hope Shelter on Thursday, specifically highlighting its Veterans Wing.

This event was a key feature of the organization’s activities during National Salvation Army Week.

The Johnson City branch of the Salvation Army explained that the open house provided the community with a unique opportunity to witness the expanding services available to local veterans.

“Individuals who have served our nation have distinct needs,” stated Maj. Maureen Diffley, the corps officer. “They often encounter unique challenges that differ from the general population. Therefore, having a program tailored to their specific requirements is essential for achieving the success we aim for them.”

The open house not only allowed community members to tour the facility but also offered insights into the various services designed for veterans in the area.
