Prince Harry is preparing to take part in a charity skydive later this month, marking one of his first public appearances since reports of his return to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The plan traces back to a meeting in Toronto last November, when Harry visited Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and met Ed Marshall, a 102-year-old former paratrooper. The two quickly connected over their military backgrounds and shared commitment to public service.
Marshall then shared a story that left a lasting impression: to celebrate his 100th birthday, he had jumped from a plane to raise money for charity. “Ed amazed Prince Harry when he proudly recounted the fundraising skydive he completed to mark his 100th birthday,” Sunnybrook said. “Together, they devised a plan for another jump.”
Harry is now set to make good on that idea, joining fellow veterans in a skydive benefiting the Sunnybrook Foundation and True Patriot Love Foundation. Both organizations work to support Canada’s military and veteran communities. The exact date and location have not been disclosed. Marshall will not take part in the jump, but his grandson Bailey is expected to attend on his behalf.
The cause closely aligns with Harry’s long-standing advocacy for service members. In 2014, he founded the Invictus Games in London for wounded, injured, and sick military personnel and veterans. Before that, Harry spent 10 years in the British Armed Forces, including two tours in Afghanistan as a Forward Air Controller and Apache helicopter pilot.
He later explained the impact of those deployments during an Invictus event in Washington in October 2025. “I’m in no doubt that my two deployments to Afghanistan changed the direction of my life,” he said. The recent news comes as reports swirl around Harry’s family life.

Harry and Markle left working royal life in 2020 and moved to California. Now, they have returned. The Sussexes haven’t confirmed the move or shared how long they plan to stay. Still, Page Six reported both children have enrolled in school in Britain.
The couple is said to be considering a private, non-royal home outside London. They still plan to keep homes in California and Portugal. Former royal butler Grand Harrold thinks, “I imagine King Charles has played a part in their decision, and Harry wanting to spend more time with his father. I think behind closed doors Harry and the King have been working hard to heal their relationship.”
He told Us Weekly, “Only so much can be done when they live so far apart, so I think this is Harry making his dad his priority, which is really nice to see.” Harrold believes living closer could give the pair a real chance to fix things.
“I think the King will be delighted to have his son and daughter-in-law closer to home. He’s well aware that their rift will never be healed when they’re only seeing each other once a twice a year, this is the next step that’s needed if they want to heal their relationship,” he added.
His comments came after Harry’s private family visit at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in July. Harry, Markle, Archie, and Lilibet visited King Charles and Queen Camilla there. It marked Charles’ first in-person meeting with his grandchildren since 2022.
