There was nothing criminal about Taylor Swift joining the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit cast for an Emmys 2026 sketch.
If anything, the pop superstar won over the squad. Kelli Giddish, who appeared in the pre-taped segment that aired during the Sept. 14 ceremony hosted by her costar Mariska Hargitay, said the “Karma” singer arrived on the SVU set with a particularly tasty gift while filming the parody.
“She’s totally sweet, down to earth, a beautiful spirit—and made really good cookies,” Giddish told Women In Entertainment in a Sept. 15 interview. “They were sourdough, brown butter, chocolate chip.”
“And I’m kind of a cookie snob,” the actress added, “so I was really pleased.”

Giddish, 46, also said she was delighted that Swift, 36, fulfilled the one request she made after learning the Grammy winner would make a cameo.
“We were so happy to host her,” Giddish shared. “Mariska told me about it, and I was like, ‘Can she be holding her cat?’”
Swift’s famous cat, Olivia Benson—who was named for Hargitay’s character on the long-running police drama—did make an appearance in the parody. The Emmys sketch also featured SVU stars Ice-T, Peter Scanavino and Aimé Donna Kelly.
