A television news helicopter crashed in Los Angeles on Tuesday night while covering the aftermath of a separate bus collision.
At least three people were killed and another was taken to a hospital after the fiery helicopter crash, which unfolded near a deadly L.A. Metro bus wreck that had already claimed two lives, according to KTLA.
Several media organizations, including the Los Angeles Times, reported that KNBC-TV lost contact with the helicopter crew as it covered the bus crash.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials said the aircraft went down shortly before 7 p.m. between two commercial buildings at 9151 N. Mason Avenue. The impact triggered an explosion and set several nearby vehicles ablaze.
Authorities did not immediately release information about the condition of the surviving victim.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the helicopter to go down. The California Post noted that the crash occurred as first responders were handling another fatal collision nearby involving a Metro bus and another vehicle.
“At least two people were killed in the bus crash, emergency personnel said,” the outlet reported. “Six others were injured and taken to hospitals in unknown condition.”
