Married at First Sight groom set to wed twice in 2027 series

For most Married At First Sight participants, navigating one TV marriage is challenging enough.

However, one groom set to appear on the show’s 2027 season is reportedly being given a second chance to find his match.

Daily Mail understands that Melbourne carpenter Chris Colombo will become a two-time groom when Nine’s headline-making social experiment returns for season 14.

His unexpected return to the altar is set against the backdrop of a major cheating scandal, with alleged secret texts, flirtatious glances and off-camera romantic links placing multiple Married At First Sight relationships under pressure.

Earlier this month, Chris quietly wed his new bride, pilates instructor Chloe, at a tightly guarded ceremony in Western Sydney.

Producers reportedly kept the event hidden from the wider cast, who were sent instead to the wedding of former Love Island Australia contestant Zac Nunns and TikTok influencer Vanilla Milla.

While many Married At First Sight contestants find one marriage difficult to navigate, Chris Colombo is reportedly taking on the experiment for a second time.

Chris secretly married his second bride, Chloe, in Western Sydney earlier this month, with producers keeping the ceremony firmly under wraps

Chris secretly tied the knot with his second bride, Chloe, at a Western Sydney ceremony earlier this month.

Chris’s comeback was finally revealed at the experiment’s fourth dinner party, when he entered the room alongside a new group of intruder contestants and left the assembled cast stunned.

Now Daily Mail can reveal his MAFS journey is set to take another extraordinary turn, with Chris later being handed another chance to find love and marrying for a second time during the experiment.

Yes, even by MAFS standards, things are getting complicated.

And Chris won’t be the only groom creating chaos.

The shock second wedding comes after Daily Mail revealed the upcoming season will be rocked by a major cheating scandal, with one controversial groom accused of privately messaging multiple brides behind their partners’ backs.

At the centre of the brewing storm is Byron Bay father-of-two Wintah Cunnington, 29, who is paired with Perth cosmetic injector Kodie Wyatt.

Religious, celibate and fiercely uncompromising, Wintah is already shaping up to be one of the season’s most divisive characters.

He also reportedly entered the experiment believing the marriage would be legally binding and was less than thrilled to discover the rather important detail that MAFS weddings are ceremonial.

And his extraordinary second shot at love will unfold as the experiment becomes engulfed in a sprawling cheating scandal involving secret messages, wandering eyes and romantic connections that threaten to blow several marriages apart

Yes, a groom on MAFS was apparently horrified to learn he wasn’t actually married at first sight.

But that may soon become the least of his problems.

While insiders insist Wintah entered the experiment genuinely hoping to find a wife, he is also accused of messaging several other brides away from their husbands.

It makes for an awkward contradiction for a groom whose intentions have otherwise been described in unusually wholesome terms.

‘He isn’t there for sex, clout, followers,’ one insider tells Daily Mail. ‘If he has a disagreement or doesn’t align he’s happy to leave the situation.’

According to the source, Wintah simply wants to leave the experiment with a wife.

The increasingly obvious question is whether it will be his own.

‘Wintah will definitely be the talk of MAFS next year,’ another insider said. And there is no shortage of competition.

‘Chris and Bella were going great- until they weren’t,’ a cast member tells Daily Mail

‘It worked really well with Eliot Donovan and producers are trying to re-create that storyline,’ the source explained

Sources say the 2027 season will feature cheating scandals, mass walkouts, celebrity cameos, same-sex couples and an Eliot Donovan-style redemption arc, with several dinner parties descending into chaos.

Wintah came looking for a marriage certificate. He may leave with a very different reputation.

Nothing vanilla about these intruders

Just when the original couples thought they had enough problems, the intruders arrived.

Former Love Island bad boy Zac Nunns and his influencer bride Vanilla Milla are expected to cause immediate friction when they enter the experiment.

Their arrival is understood to have raised eyebrows among the original cast, with questions swirling over their backgrounds and why they were selected for the show.

Vanilla is facing claims from cast members about a ‘racy’ past, along with accusations she was brought into the experiment specifically to cause trouble.

Those are claims being made within the cast rather than an established explanation for why producers chose her.

‘Some of the cast had already made up their minds about why she was there. They thought her arrival was designed to provoke a reaction, and that became part of the argument.’

But while Vanilla’s history is expected to attract plenty of attention, Zac has baggage of his own.

Daily Mail can reveal the former Love Island contestant previously had a romantic connection with another bride taking part in the experiment.

And when that history emerges, it threatens to turn an already tense dinner party into open warfare.

‘His connection with another bride becomes a topic at the dinner party. Once it comes up, there are questions about their history and who knew about it,’ a source said.

It also leaves another tantalising question hanging over the experiment.

Did producers know?

Exactly how Zac’s previous relationship comes to light, and how Vanilla reacts when it does, is set to become one of the season’s earliest flashpoints.

Sources say the fallout became so heated that one couple refused to immediately continue filming.

‘They were unhappy with how things had played out and wanted to speak to production before filming anything further,’ the source added.

Incoming!

Chris, Zac and Vanilla aren’t the only intruders being thrown into the pressure cooker.

Scottish bride Nicole Monaghan is also entering the experiment and has been paired with topless waiter and tradie Kol Regev.

Perth-based recruitment consultant Nicole is described as a lover of health, beauty and fashion who spends her downtime exploring cafes, staying active and making the most of the coastline.

Other brides have described Nicole as ‘an absolute sweetheart’ who ‘doesn’t put up with bulls**t’.

Which could prove useful.

Insiders tell Daily Mail that Kol is expected to become one of the show’s most controversial grooms thanks to his outspoken views.

Sources say the pair get off to an icy start, with Nicole unimpressed by some of his opinions.

‘She is not a fan of his very strong views, and people on set said to expect Andrew Tate comparisons.’

With secret romantic histories, alleged private messages, second weddings and couples threatening to walk away, the 2027 experiment appears to have found a new gear.

But despite the chaos, insiders insist it isn’t all betrayal and broken vows.

Daily Mail is told the upcoming season will also deliver ‘plenty of love’, with several couples already discussing the possibility of relocating interstate to remain together after filming.

Turns out a few of them really did sign up for a marriage.

The others may just have to work out whose marriage it is.
