A transgender former anti-terror police officer who raped a 15-year-old girl has been photographed riding a toy police car during a community event.

Maja S., 55, admitted the rape on Friday morning at Traunstein Regional Court, appearing in handcuffs and leg irons as the trial continued.

Judge Andreas Bartschmid said the 6ft-tall former officer is likely to receive a prison sentence of three and a half years in return for the confession.

Following the arrest, Maja S. was initially detained in the women’s wing at Bamberg prison in Bavaria.

However, Maja S. has spent the past five months in the men’s section of Stadelheim prison.

Defence lawyer Peter Dürr told BILD: ‘This is a serious burden in her daily life. She is whistled at during her exercise period, and physical examinations are always conducted by male officers.’

Police said they found about 2,000 files containing child and animal pornography in the 55-year-old’s possession, along with a Kalashnikov rifle.

The alleged offences date back to 2024, when Maja S. uploaded what was described as ‘pornographic material’ for paedophiles online, including images depicting the abuse of three-year-old children.

The upload led to police raids at Maja S’s police station and home, during which the defendant’s colleagues seized further child and bestiality pornography as well as a Kalashnikov rifle.

Maja S. was suspended from police duties and later fined €19,000 (£16,000).

While investigations were ongoing, the former cop invited the 15-year-old daughter of an acquaintance on a motorcycle tour, according to BILD. The destination was a McDonald’s toilet.

The prosecutor said: ‘There, the defendant, who is 1.84 meters tall and physically much stronger, took advantage of a moment of surprise, forced her way into the toilet cubicle the victim had entered, closed the door, and locked it.’

The rape from August 2025 came to light after Maja S.’s fiancé, Stefanie Z., discovered a sexual message on the defendant’s phone.

Disturbed by what she found, Stefanie Z. confronted the 15-year-old in October 2025.

‘I was distraught and shocked and asked the little girl if everything was alright,’ she said as a witness in court.

‘Then she told me that she had somehow ended up in the toilet with Maja, that she had kissed her and touched her all over.’

Stefanie Z. went to the Federal Police and filed a report on behalf of the child.

The indictment regarding the crime states: ‘The victim was unable to react and stared at the accused in shock.

‘The accused left the cubicle, and the victim, trembling all over and with her heart pounding, locked herself in the toilet.’

Maja S. allegedly assaulted the 15-year-old on another occasion, after a trip to the swimming pool.

The girl woke up the next morning in the bed of the police chief inspector, without any clothes on.

Police officer Torben H. said: ‘She had no recollection of what had happened.’

At the start of the trial, Maja S. confessed to most of the charges behind closed doors to spare the victim from having to testify – including the rape.

Maja S. has been ordered to pay the victim €5,000. The trial is still ongoing.
