Ole Miss fans made their view of Lane Kiffin unmistakable early Saturday morning.
Only seconds after ESPN’s “College GameDay” began broadcasting from Oxford, Rebels supporters launched into a “F— Lane Kiffin” chant ahead of the former Ole Miss coach’s return with LSU on Saturday night.
The profanity came through clearly on the broadcast as Pat McAfee opened the show from The Grove.

The crowd’s reaction intensified when Kiffin appeared in a virtual interview, putting his face on the screen for the fans gathered in Oxford.
“It’s not about me,” Kiffin said during the appearance.
“Both teams have great players, great coaches. I have a lot of respect for their programs. This is about the players performing really well tonight in a really awesome matchup.”

Officials are preparing for a charged atmosphere at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, with security significantly increased for Kiffin’s return to Oxford.
Kiffin also sought to create a tense setting for his team Friday, bringing in LSU students to heckle the Tigers as they left the practice field.
The anger directed at Kiffin has also reached his daughter, Landry, an Ole Miss student who said vulgar banners featuring sexual jokes about her were hung around Oxford this week.
Kiffin is returning to Oxford for the first time since leaving Ole Miss for LSU during the 2025 season.
Over six seasons with the Rebels, Kiffin posted a 55-19 record and guided the program to its first College Football Playoff appearance last year.
He departed Ole Miss before the playoff run began, with former defensive coordinator Pete Golding assuming the role of head coach.
