GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jameiris Coffee, 18, was arrested after allegedly crawling beneath a fence to enter Gainesville High School property for what he described as a “romantic rendezvous” with a female student.
According to a Gainesville Police Department officer’s report, the incident occurred around 2:06 p.m. on September 25. Coffee allegedly bypassed campus security by crawling through a wooded area and under the school’s perimeter fence. The arrest report identifies Coffee as a former Gainesville High School student who now attends Siatech MycroSchool.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Coffee reportedly told investigators that an unidentified female student asked him to meet her in the stairwell of East Building 25, where they had a “romantic rendezvous.” He allegedly acknowledged crawling through an opening beneath the fence because he knew he would not have been permitted to enter the campus through the main entrance.
Coffee was charged with trespassing on school grounds. His criminal history was unavailable because those records are not posted on weekends. Judge George Wright ordered Coffee released on his own recognizance.
