Jacksonville Beach police said officers responded to Charleys Cheesesteaks after a person was wounded in a shooting.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A shooting in Jacksonville Beach left one person injured Sunday evening, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.
Police said they went to Charleys Cheesesteaks on 3rd Street South at about 6:39 p.m. following a report of a disturbance.
One person was shot and transported to a nearby hospital. Officers detained another person, and police said there was no continuing threat to the public.
In a social media post shortly after 7 p.m., the department warned that the area could see a temporary police presence and traffic delays as officers managed the scene. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation,” the agency said.
Police had not publicly released the suspect’s identity.
