The Duggar family has grown once again after Johannah Duggar and David Swanson exchanged wedding vows.
Us exclusively confirmed that the couple married on September 10, according to county records.
At 20, Johannah is the 16th child and sixth daughter of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar, who became household names through TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. Johannah was also the second of the couple’s children to be born on camera.
As several of her siblings have done, Johannah kept her courtship largely out of the public eye before marrying quietly. News of the wedding plans emerged in early September, when she filed for a marriage license in Arkansas. The license gave the couple 60 days to legally marry.

The couple’s wedding website on The Knot listed Saturday, October 10, as the date Johannah and David, 23, planned to say their vows.

They ultimately married ahead of schedule, with Noel Cwenar, a minister at Gospel Light Baptist Church, officiating, according to records reviewed by Us.
The newlyweds also share a family connection that some Counting On viewers may recall.
David is the younger brother of Lauren Duggar, née Swanson. Lauren married Johannah’s older brother, Josiah Duggar, in June 2018 after a three-month engagement. Lauren and Josiah, 30, now share three children.
The Duggar family has drawn attention for its distinctive courtship traditions since 2008, when viewers first began following their lives on television. The Swansons nearly became connected to the Duggars through three marriages. Johannah’s brother James Duggar was reportedly engaged to Lydia Swanson, but the relationship ended before the couple reached the altar. Their Target registry had listed May 21 as the wedding date.

The Duggar family has yet to share photos from Johannah and David’s wedding. However, Jessa Duggar appeared to reference a recent sisters’ reunion in an Instagram post published September 17.
“The last month or two, in no particular order ✨,” Jessa wrote in the caption. The post included a photo of her sitting on a couch with Joy-Anna Duggar and Jinger Duggar.

In another image, Jessa, 33, showed sisters Johannah, Jennifer Duggar and Jordyn-Grace Duggar enjoying coffee together.
Johannah is the latest Duggar sibling to marry. She follows Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissmann, who wed in August 2024, as well as Jason Duggar and Maddie Duggar, who married that October.
