Kris Jenner Allegedly Helped Save Prince Harry’s Invictus Games From a £20M Crisis

Kris Jenner may have played a crucial role in helping the Invictus Games overcome a major financial hurdle, according to reports.

The reality television star and prominent “momager” reportedly helped secure millions in funding for Prince Harry’s sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick veterans. Without additional financial support, the event could have faced a severe budget crisis.

The next Invictus Games are scheduled to take place in Birmingham in July 2027. Although preparations are already underway, organizers reportedly needed another £20 million to meet the event’s expenses, according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.

Jenner, who is friends with Meghan Markle, is said to have stepped in to help address the funding shortfall. The The Kardashians star also has ties to Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, and reportedly acted as a link between the couple and Harry and Meghan.

“Kris didn’t just know both sides — she had their trust,” a source told Naughty But Nice. “Meghan needed help. Kris had Lauren’s ear, and Lauren had Jeff’s. One conversation led to another, and suddenly Amazon was at the table.”

Invictus Games were reportedly facing a funding crisis 

Earlier this year, NewsNation reported that the Invictus Games were on “life support” amid a “budget crisis.” The organization faced several setbacks, including Australia’s decision to withdraw its funding and Boeing’s move to end its role as a corporate sponsor. The U.K. government has pledged £26 million for the Birmingham Games, but experts estimate that the event could cost between £30 million and £60 million to operate, creating a substantial funding gap.

Bezos’ reported, though unconfirmed, backing could benefit everyone involved. Jenner would strengthen her connections among influential figures, Harry and Meghan could gain greater confidence that the Invictus Games will proceed without a funding breakdown, and Bezos could enhance his public image by supporting a major event for wounded and injured athletes.

“This is classic Kris Jenner. She knows who needs what — and exactly who can deliver it. Meghan needed a powerful new partner, and Kris knew precisely which door to knock on,” a Hollywood source told Shuter.

For Bezos, contributing to the Invictus Games would represent a relatively modest financial gesture with the potential to deliver significant cultural and social goodwill.

“This is pocket change for Jeff, but potentially transformative for Invictus. Lauren understands the power of backing major cultural events,” the insider said. “If Jeff can put Amazon money behind the Met Gala, why wouldn’t they help Meghan and Harry?”
