Patrick Clancy’s pregnant wife, Rachel Danis, was seen in New York City on Wednesday morning for the first time since the couple revealed they intend to start a family.
Danis, 37, a fertility specialist, was photographed riding a Citi Bike with a visible baby bump. The sighting came roughly three years after Clancy’s three young children were killed in an attack involving his first wife, Lindsay Clancy.
She began her ride near the couple’s Upper East Side home, wearing a pink helmet and a loose-fitting white T-shirt.
Earlier this month, Danis and Clancy said in an interview that they hope to have children together. They also spoke about their plans to one day tell those children about Clancy’s three deceased children.
Ross Douthat, who conducted the interview for “60 Minutes,” later confirmed during an appearance on “CBS Mornings” that Danis is already pregnant.

“I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they’re all your kids. And I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister,” Patrick said, suggesting that he may hope to have more than one child with Danis.
Danis, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York, has said she met Clancy while running in Central Park.
The couple married last April, only a few months before the high-profile triple-murder trial involving Lindsay Clancy began in July.
During the proceedings, Lindsay Clancy, 36, argued that she should not be held criminally responsible because she had experienced temporary insanity linked to postpartum psychosis.
Prosecutors accused her of strangling her children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan—with exercise bands in the basement of the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, while Patrick was out running errands.
The case ended in a mistrial on Sept. 4.
