College Professor Accused in Explicit Snapchat Child Solicitation Case

A North Texas community college drama instructor was arrested last week after authorities accused him of sending sexually explicit images and messages online to someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy.

Aaron Wood, 34, taught drama at North Central Texas College for two years. Investigators allege he used Snapchat on May 22 to communicate with an undercover Florida law enforcement officer posing as the teenager.

The Denton County Sheriff’s Office took Wood into custody last Friday. County records show he faces a charge of soliciting a minor through a computer.

North Central Texas College confirmed the arrest and said Wood was no longer employed by the school as of Monday.

The college said the alleged conduct did not involve any of its students or employees.

“To our knowledge, the alleged offense does not involve NCTC, its students or staff,” the school said. “We can verify that he has had no contact with NCTC students, faculty or staff since his arrest on September 25, 2026.”

According to the arrest affidavit, Wood allegedly exchanged Snapchat messages with an undercover investigator working with Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office, FOX 4 Dallas reported.

During the conversation, investigators say Wood mentioned that he taught students who were about the same age as the person he believed was contacting him.

When the undercover officer asked about his students, Wood allegedly said he had “been into a few over the years.” The affidavit says he described himself as nervous but continued expressing interest in the online conversation.

Investigators allege Wood sent an image of male genitals and other sexually explicit messages, then asked the officer to send a similar image, according to FOX 4.

Authorities reportedly used the IP address connected to the online exchange to trace the activity to an apartment in Denton.

The affidavit said the Orange County Sheriff’s Office had probable cause to pursue charges alleging the transmission of harmful material to a minor and the unlawful use of a two-way communication device, FOX 4 reported.

Although the allegations do not reportedly involve NCTC students, the college said protecting its campus community remains a top priority. “The safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance and concern,” the school said.
