ALACHUA, Fla. – Corey Mathew Parlow, 27, of Lake City, is facing charges after investigators accused him of breaking into a storage unit in Alachua and trying to sell a dishwasher, toolbox and other property allegedly taken from the facility.
According to the Alachua Police Department, a woman reported on Aug. 4 that the lock on her unit at People’s Choice Storage, located at 14709 NW 129th Terrace, had been removed and replaced with a different lock. An officer noted that facility employees conduct periodic inspections, suggesting the replacement lock may have been used to conceal the alleged burglary.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed a red Ford F-150 arriving at the storage property around 4:08 p.m. on Aug. 1 with an empty truck bed. Roughly 40 minutes later, the vehicle left carrying a dishwasher, a workbench-style toolbox and additional items. Police said the belongings appeared to match property reported stolen by the victim, which had a combined value of more than $1,800.
The investigating officer said the truck is registered to Parlow’s wife.
Flock license plate reader data allegedly tracked the truck north on U.S. Highway 441 in the direction of Fort White. A Flock camera near the Santa Fe Bar reportedly recorded the vehicle and showed the stolen items still in its bed.

A witness told police that Parlow came to her home, located near his residence, at about 6:05 p.m. She said he offered to sell her a new dishwasher for $100 as well as a toolbox. Although she declined, the witness reportedly provided photographs and surveillance footage showing the red truck loaded with property identified as belonging to the victim.
Parlow was charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure, grand theft and dealing in stolen property. Authorities said he has six prior nonviolent felony convictions and three nonviolent misdemeanor convictions, and has served two state prison sentences. His latest release was in July 2026. Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $150,000.
