A Texas mother has been charged with capital murder after authorities said she fatally shot her two sons and appeared to injure herself.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon, who faces two counts of capital murder.
Deputies were called to a home on Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie shortly before 4:15 a.m. Thursday following a report of an “unknown emergency.”
When deputies arrived, they found two male victims inside the residence, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
Lemmon was also found at the home with injuries that authorities said were not life-threatening.
Investigators said evidence collected at the scene established probable cause to believe Lemmon shot both of her sons.
