Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Rally Around North West at Her First Headlining Show
Kim Kardashian is making sure her daughter North West has room to pursue her ambitions while still growing up with clear boundaries.
The Kardashians star shares 13-year-old North, as well as Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7, with ex-husband Kanye “Ye” West. While discussing parenting in the public eye, Kim acknowledged that North is more drawn to fame and entertainment than her siblings.
“I do worry about it. Each kid does what they’re comfortable with,” Kim told The Times in an interview published Oct. 3. She explained that her younger children sometimes join her while she films, but they are not typically involved in the show’s storylines.
“North loves it a little bit more than the rest,” Kim said. “I hold her back. All she wants to do is forward-facing projects.”
The SKIMS founder said she prefers to “savor those moments” rather than accept every opportunity offered to North. Taking a measured approach, she added, helps the family handle the attention in the healthiest way possible.
North, who released her debut EP N0rth4evr in May, has shown a particular interest in pursuing music, following in the footsteps of her father. Kim noted that North’s creative goals are “something that her dad and I have better communication about.”
