Rain Chances Increase as the Workweek Begins

Rain chances will remain elevated across Central Florida throughout the forecast period as abundant moisture lingers and a front stalls over the region.

Tonight

Scattered showers will continue moving from west to east through the early part of Sunday evening, with rain possible through about 9 or 10 p.m. Drier conditions should spread across Central Florida by midnight, followed by mostly dry weather through Monday morning. Overnight temperatures will stay warmer than average, with lows settling in the mid to upper 70s.

Monday

Rain coverage will increase Monday as deeper moisture builds ahead of the cold front. The day will begin dry with a mix of sunshine and clouds, and dry weather should hold through the early afternoon. By around 2 p.m., scattered storms are expected to develop near and east of I-75 before shifting eastward. Showers and thunderstorms will likely affect the I-4 and I-95 corridors during the evening commute and continue into the early evening. High temperatures will reach the low 90s before rain brings cooler conditions.

Week Ahead

Rain chances will continue climbing through Wednesday as the cold front settles over Central Florida and stalls, producing periods of heavy rain across the region. The front is expected to shift south Thursday, bringing one day of lower rain chances. However, it will move back north Friday, leaving behind ample moisture and keeping rain chances elevated through Sunday. Central Florida could receive about 3-5″ of rain through Friday, while some locations—particularly in Flagler and Volusia counties—may see totals reach 5-8″ by the end of the event. With the ground already saturated, the additional rainfall could create flooding concerns, especially during the second half of the week, when poor drainage becomes more likely.
