Sam Wood and Wife Snezana Finally Break Their Silence

Sam Wood is expected to spend several more days in custody after his domestic violence matter was adjourned to allow his legal team to prepare a bail application.

The Bachelor Australia star was not present at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday. His lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, appeared on his behalf.

Mr Cuskelly requested that the case return to court on Thursday, when Wood is expected to apply for bail.

The 46-year-old will remain at the local watchhouse until the matter is heard again later this week.

Wood was arrested on Saturday after police were called to a property on Noosa’s Hastings Street, where he had been staying during a holiday.

Queensland Police said officers attended the address at about 9pm after receiving a report of alleged domestic violence.

A police spokesperson said a 46-year-old Victorian man was charged with domestic violence offences in the early hours of October 4.

The charges include assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic violence context and strangulation in a domestic setting.

Mr Cuskelly told the court the charges would be defended and said he planned to speak with Wood on Monday.

Wood and his wife addressed the allegations publicly on Monday morning in a joint statement shared on social media.

“This is a difficult time for all of us. We are working through this as a family and are thoroughly co-operating with the authorities,” they said.

Amid the allegations, Wood has also reportedly lost thousands of social media followers.

His arrest came just days after he signalled plans to return to social media.

“The comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself,” Wood wrote in an Instagram post shared on Sunday.

In the accompanying caption, he reflected on the different motivations behind personal transformation.

“You don’t want to beat yourself up about what is in the past, but you can definitely gain strength and motivation for the future,” he wrote.

With the reality TV personality behind bars, it’s likely the post was pre-scheduled to be shared on Sunday.

The fitness entrepreneur married Snezana in a outdoor ceremony in Byron Bay in 2018 after meeting her on The Bachelor Australia in 2015.

They went on to have three children together, Willow, eight, Charlie, seven, and Harper, four.

They also co-parent  Eve, 21, who is Snezana’s daughter from a previous relationship.

The Woods live in Brighton, Victoria, where they recently purchased a $7 million home in February.

The celebrity trainer funnelled his Bachelor fame into building his highly successful fitness empire.

Wood founded the fitness and training business 28 by Sam Wood, which he sold in 2022 for $71 million, and he remains the owner of The Woodshed gym in Melbourne.

Wood remained the face of the online platform under the new owner.

Just four months ago, Wood was announced as the face of Ollo For Women, a newly launched platform focused on medical weight loss, nutrition and telehealth.

The company is aimed at women aged 40 and over, with Wood serving as its main public face across media and promotional campaigns.

Wood came under scrutiny in November 2025 after it emerged the Australian Taxation Office was pursuing him for more than $7 million in unpaid taxes.

The tax office’s Deputy Commissioner launched civil proceedings against Wood in October, seeking allegedly unpaid amounts relating to three consecutive financial years ending June 30, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

A recent court update shows the dispute was resolved by agreement, with the case dismissed without adjudication in September.
