Tiffiny Hall Cuts Ties With Sam Wood After Domestic Violence Charges

Tiffiny Hall has become the latest public figure to distance herself from Sam Wood following the fitness entrepreneur’s domestic violence charges over the weekend.

Hall, whose fitness program had been closely connected to Wood’s health and wellness company, 28 by Sam Wood, said on Monday that she was “shocked” by the arrest of a man she had previously described to news.com.au as both a friend and a long-standing colleague in the fitness industry.

“I have zero tolerance for domestic and family violence, and for violence of any kind,” the 42-year-old said in a statement posted to Instagram.

She added that the allegations were “unacceptable” and conflicted with the standards, values and culture she wanted to promote.

“I am shocked and disturbed by the charges against Sam Wood reported in the media. As the matter is before the court, I will not comment on it,” Hall wrote.

Hall also clarified that her association with 28 by Sam Wood had ended before the reports emerged. “Before this news, my time with 28 by Sam Wood had already come to an end and I had moved on to focus on other projects. I have no ongoing role or involvement with the program,” she said.

Tiffiny Hall (left) has publicly separated herself from Sam Wood (right) after the fitness entrepreneur was charged over alleged domestic violence offences.

The Gladiators personality expressed her support for people affected by abuse, saying: “My thoughts are with any victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, and with anyone distressed or triggered by these reports. I will continue to empower women to be safe, strong and supported in any way I can.”

Hall’s fitness platform, TXO, was combined with 28 by Sam Wood in September last year.

At the time, Hall spoke warmly about their professional relationship. “Sam Wood and I have been friends — long-time industry mates — and I have always admired him and what he’s been doing,” she told news.com.au.

“We’ve always joked that we’re very similar. We share the same mission of helping women across Australia become healthier and feel empowered,” she said.

Hall said their audiences were closely aligned and that they had often laughed about joining forces. “We said one day we should come together — it would be amazing,” she recalled.

Because TXO workout programs remain available through the 28 by Sam Wood app, some of Hall’s followers are now asking how they can continue accessing her routines without maintaining a subscription to the platform.

“How do we access your workouts? Your workouts through the Sam Wood app have changed my life. We would still like to access them. How can we do this?” one Instagram user asked.

Another follower wrote: “I want to know this too! I’m only a member of 28 by Sam Wood because I used to belong to Tiffxo and it moved over to Sam Wood.

The trainer, who had strong links to Wood's fitness and nutrition business, 28 by Sam Wood, announced on Monday that she is 'shocked' by the arrest of a man she previously told news.com.au was her 'friend' and a 'long-time industry mate'

Hall had previously described Wood as a friend and “long-time industry mate” while promoting their collaboration through the 28 by Sam Wood fitness and nutrition platform.

“I want to cancel my subscription but still have access to Tiff’s workouts. They’re the best,” the follower added.

A further comment read: “OMG, me too! I only have the 28 app to access the MumBod series. If there were a way to buy it outright, I would. It has changed my life.”

Wood established 28 by Sam Wood before selling the fitness and training business to DBG Health for $71 million in 2022. Despite the sale, he continued as the public face of the online platform under its new ownership.

The multimillion-dollar wellness brands associated with Wood have since addressed the allegations and stood him down.

‘DBG Health, the parent company of 28 by Sam Wood, has zero tolerance for domestic violence,’ a DBG Health spokesperson said.

‘While the matter is under investigation and before the court, Sam Wood is on indefinite leave from his duties. Our thoughts are with the family and anyone in the community affected by domestic violence.

‘Mark Watkins, 28 Group’s Chief Operating Officer, will be leading the business in Sam Wood’s absence.’

The Bachelor star, 46, who has three children with his wife, Snezana, was arrested on Saturday after police attended a property on Noosa’s main street.

Wood did not appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, with the matter instead being dealt with by his lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly.

Mr Cuskelly asked for the case to be relisted on Thursday, when Wood is expected to apply for bail.

The celebrity fitness trainer will remain in the local watchhouse until at least Thursday, when the case is due to return to court.

A police spokesperson said officers attended the Hastings Street address at about 9pm on Saturday after receiving reports of alleged domestic violence.

‘Police have charged a 46-year-old Victorian man with domestic violence offences early this morning, 4 October,’ the spokesperson said.

The TXO workouts are available via the 28 by Sam Wood app, leaving some of Hall's fans confused about how to continue using them without having to access the 28 platform

‘The man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence) and strangulation in a domestic setting.’

It comes after Tammin Sursok stepped away from her partnership with Wood after the fitness guru’s domestic violence charge this weekend.

The former Home and Away actress, who has previously appeared alongside Wood in promotional videos for his 28 by Sam Wood company, issued a statement on Monday indicating that the business relationship is on ‘pause’.

‘I’m aware of the serious charges reported in the media involving Sam Wood,’ the 43-year-old wrote in a message shared on Instagram.

‘I want to be clear that I have zero tolerance for domestic and family violence. It’s an issue I care deeply about, and one that I will always stand firmly against,’ she continued.

‘In light of the reports, I have immediately paused my partnership with 28 by Sam Wood and removed related promotional content from my social channels while this matter is before the courts.

‘My thoughts are with anyone impacted by domestic and family violence.’

The Daily Mail does not suggest Wood is guilty of the offences he is charged with.
