A 35-year-old woman was found dead inside her Bronx apartment Sunday evening with bruises covering her body, and investigators are examining possible foul play, police and sources said.
Jasmine Chisolm had visible injuries to her head and face when officers arrived at the apartment on East 158th Street near Courtlandt Avenue in Melrose at about 6:30 p.m., authorities said.
Her boyfriend called 911 to report her condition, according to law enforcement sources.
Emergency medical workers transported Chisolm to Lincoln Medical Center, where she was initially listed in stable condition. She died from her injuries several hours later.
The circumstances of Chisolm’s death were not immediately clear, but sources said the NYPD is investigating whether a crime was involved.
The city medical examiner’s office will make the official determination of her cause of death.
No arrests had been announced by Monday afternoon.
