Judge Judy Says Migrants Who Complain About the U.S. Should Leave

Judge Judy launched a fiery attack on critics of America during a rare interview about her political views, questioning why some people immigrate to the United States only to complain about the country and suggesting they should leave if they dislike it.

Judy Sheindlin, 83, the celebrated television judge who dominated daytime TV for decades, shared her passionate views on America in a recent interview with USA Today from her home in Connecticut.

“If you don’t like this country, go somewhere else,” she said.

“Don’t come to the greatest country in the world, the most successful country in the world and say, ‘I want to change it.’ There are other countries that have something else that you want? Go there.”

Sheindlin described the United States as a capitalist nation that “revered excellence,” while sharply criticizing people who support socialism or socialist policies.

“Well, everybody’s not equal. Some people are tall. Some people are short. Some people are musical. Some people are not. Some people have big breasts. Some people have no breasts. They’re different,” she said.

Her remarks spread rapidly online, triggering a fierce social media debate and prompting discussion on The View.

The hosts of The View challenged Sheindlin’s position. Ana Navarro argued that anyone seeking political change should remain engaged, saying: “If you want things to change in the government, you stay, you fight, you vote, you organize, and you are part of the change.”

Sunny Hostin went further, saying Sheindlin’s comments echoed a “MAGA message.”

Sara Haines, however, defended the sentiment, saying that migrants who want to “inflate religion into our laws” or alter a nation’s foundational ideas should consider moving to another country.

Sheindlin later stood by her comments in an interview with Fox News, telling her critics: “It’s gonna take a lot more than Ana Navarro to shut me up.”

She argued that the United States was “founded on certain principles,” adding: “And when you say, ‘Well, we don’t want capitalism anymore, we want socialism,’ that’s where I draw the line. Because then you are fiddling around with what this country is about.”

Sheindlin compared America to a beautiful house, arguing that being welcomed into someone’s home does not give a guest the right to demand that it be redecorated to suit personal tastes.

She clarified that she supports making adjustments and improvements, but objected to what she described as “burning” the house down.

Sheindlin generally kept her political views private during her three-decade run on Judge Judy. However, she endorsed Michael Bloomberg for president in 2020 and Nikki Haley in 2024.

She joked in her recent interview with USA Today that she does not anticipate another candidate asking for her endorsement after the two candidates she endorsed lost.

‘I haven’t dipped my toes in politics since, because it’s a disgusting business,’ she added.

Before her tenure on television, Sheindlin was a family court judge. Her son, Judge Adam Levy, has since taken over the family business and stars in a similar program, Adam’s Law.
