Floyd Mayweather heaped praise on Donald Trump during a rally in Arizona after the president complimented the boxer’s youthful appearance.
Mayweather traveled aboard Air Force One to Bullhead City, Arizona, where he joined Trump at a campaign event supporting Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
The undefeated boxing star became the latest prominent athlete to appear alongside Trump on the campaign trail, receiving an enthusiastic introduction from the president.
‘One of the greatest fighters in boxing history,’ Trump said, describing Mayweather as an ‘unbelievable defensive fighter.’
‘That’s why he looks so good,’ Trump added. As he welcomed Mayweather to the stage, he continued: ‘Look at this guy, he looks so good. Who would believe he’s a fighter? He looks so good! He doesn’t have a mark!’
Mayweather returned the compliment, telling the crowd: ‘We couldn’t have chosen a better president twice than Donald Trump.’

Mayweather opened his remarks by telling the audience: ‘America is the greatest country in the world. If I died and came back a million times, I would always choose America.’
‘It was great to represent this country in the 1996 Olympic Games,’ Mayweather said. ‘To go out there and represent the red, white, and blue.’
He then shifted his attention to Trump before adding: ‘So it’s all about keeping this country strong, sticking together, and believing in one another. America is the greatest country in the world. Thank you.’

What do you think motivates celebrities like Mayweather to publicly align themselves with political figures?
‘We had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him,’ Mayweather told Fox Business in February of last year. ‘I think Trump is a great president, actually he’s the best president in my eyes, he’s the best president we’ve ever had. Great business man and that’s what it’s about.’
‘Trump has done an amazing job and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes into the White House, we’re always upset. And I think Trump is the man for the job, he’s the best president in my eyes.’
Mayweather’s fellow boxing icon Tyson also joined Trump on the Presidential aircraft last week, making the journey from the White House to Syracuse, New York.
During his speech at the rally, Trump spotted Tyson in the crowd and invited the former boxing champion on stage.
‘I think we have to call him up, Mike Tyson, will you get up here?’ Trump said.
As the President’s athletic guest of the day, Tyson praised Trump in front of the Syracuse crowd, thanking him during a brief moment on stage.
‘Thank you, thank you very much. I’m just happy to be up here with my president, President Trump. There’s no way in the world I would ever be here if it wasn’t for a president like Donald Trump,’ Tyson said.
Trump was also joined by NBA icon Rodman in Durant, Oklahoma, and former NFL coach Gruden and influencer-turned-boxer Paul in Youngstown, Ohio.
He announced his intention to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to MLB legend Clemens when the former pitcher joined him at a rally in San Antonio, Texas.
