GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Craig Darnell Presley, 53, was arrested after authorities accused him of exposing himself while watching a child under 16.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, an officer arrived at Presley’s apartment complex at approximately 6:45 p.m. on October 21. Presley was reportedly standing on the walkway outside his second-floor apartment, where he could be seen from the sidewalk and from windows of nearby units.
A six-year-old child told investigators he saw Presley pull down his pants and begin “flopping his weewee.” The child’s sister reportedly said she noticed her brother sitting on the staircase and looking toward Presley’s walkway. When she looked in the same direction, she allegedly saw Presley touching himself.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Presley acknowledged that he had been outside his apartment but denied intentionally exposing himself. He later reportedly said his pants might have fallen while he was standing outside, adding that he did not mean to expose himself and was unaware the child was present.

The responding officer also noted that Presley had recently been recorded in an unrelated incident by a nearby doorbell camera. In that footage, he was reportedly seen exposing himself and urinating outside at the apartment complex.
Presley faces a charge of exposing himself while looking at a child under 16. His record includes three nonviolent felony convictions and three nonviolent misdemeanor convictions. He was also arrested on a child-neglect charge in September 2025 and is currently on probation in that case. Judge Adam Lee ordered Presley held without bail while the court considers a State Attorney’s Office request to keep him detained through trial. If that request is denied, the judge will determine bail at the hearing.
