Nicki Minaj Blasts New York Governor Amid Press Secretary Buzz

Nicki Minaj has launched a fierce attack on New York Governor Kathy Hochul, branding her an “evil woman” who “will not escape God’s wrath” as speculation continues that the rapper could become President Donald Trump’s next press secretary.

Minaj, who was raised in Queens, targeted the Democrat in a series of social media posts on Wednesday, just days before Hochul faces Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman in an election to retain her seat.

“Kathy Hochul is an evil woman,” Minaj wrote on X.

She went on to argue that the Democratic Party should forfeit Hochul’s seat, warning that even a victory would have serious consequences for the party. Minaj predicted a “downward spiral” for the governor and said she “will not escape God’s wrath.”

“She did not denounce evil when she had the chance,” claimed the singer behind “Starships.”

Asked about Minaj’s comments, Hochul appeared taken aback, shaking her head in response to the social media attack.

The governor then suggested that Minaj should “get outside, and stop going to Trump rallies, it’s kind of poisoning your mind.”

Blakeman, meanwhile, embraced the rapper’s criticism of his opponent. “Nicki, I’ve got the U-Haul ready. It’s time to fire the worst governor in America,” he wrote on X.

In a follow-up post, the Republican candidate contrasted the two women, writing: “The difference between Kathy Hochul and @NICKIMINAJ is Nicki excels at what she does while @KathyHochul is a failure who makes everyone miserable.”

He added: “Nicki is probably the best female rapper of all time, while Kathy is the worst governor in the history of New York.”

Minaj later urged New Yorkers to vote for Blakeman, again criticizing Hochul over remarks in which the governor said she wanted the world opened up to “black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is.”

“HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED TO SEE & HEAR FROM THEM?!! HOW DARE YOU AS BLACK PEOPLE VOTE FOR THIS VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN? HOW DARE YOU AS CHRISTIANS?!” she posted.

“SHE STAYS SILENT ON HARM BEING CAUSED TO THE INNOCENT & THIS IS WHAT SHE THINKS OF YOUR CHILDREN!”

The trigger for Minaj’s attack on the New York governor has not been established.

Her comments came only days after she appeared alongside Trump at a rally in Michigan.

“President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever,” she told the crowd. “If you run again, I will support you again.”

Ahead of her remarks, Trump commented on the state of Minaj’s derrière, saying that she had ‘beautiful a**,’ before encouraging her to ‘stand up’ and show it off.

Minaj has previously stood with the president in January of this year, when Trump praised her for investing hundreds of thousands into Trump Accounts for her supporters’ children.

The rapper, who appeared shyer than usual in front of the government and business audience that month, gushed about Trump despite backlash over her outward support for the president.

‘I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,’ Minaj reaffirmed from the podium in the Andrew W Mellon Auditorium in January, before adding ‘And that’s not going to change.’

She said any hate towards Trump motivates her and his backers to support him even more.

The Trinidadian singer also shared with fans earlier this year that she is working to obtain her US citizenship.

‘Residency? Residency? The cope is coping,’ she typed out in a separate post on X. ‘Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition.’

Minaj continued, ‘I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment Gold Trump card free of charge.’

Minaj has become even more outspoken about politics ahead of this year's midterm elections

But she has become even more outspoken about politics ahead of this year’s midterm elections, telling the Daily Mail it is the ‘most important midterm election of our lifetimes.

‘We need to make sure that our great president has a great team in Congress to work with during his final two years in office so he can continue to create great programs like the Trump accounts, which I am a proud supporter of,’ she said.

Ahead of the rally on Sunday, Minaj showed off her political chops during a conversation with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung.

The two chatted aboard Air Force One en route to the rally in Michigan. Cheung posted the clip of their conversation, and floated the idea that Minaj may become Trump’s new Press Secretary, after Katie Zacharia’s exit earlier this month.

Trump’s trusted aide wrote: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ.’

Minaj responded to Cheung’s post by sharing it with two emojis, an American flag and a laughing face with a bead of sweat, keeping coy about the job proposal.

One of the questions Cheung asked Minaj, who was wearing a $6,000 Gucci suit for the affair, was how she viewed the state of the economy under President Trump.

Minaj responded: ‘Well, we have a president who understands economics first of all. You know, I’ve said before that the president is, naturally, a businessman. He’s worked his way out of not having a dollar left in the bank.’

She continued: ‘If he can do that himself, with his own finances, surely he knows what to do with the country.’

Minaj also praised Trump’s foreign policy acumen, saying ‘he’s tough internationally’ and touted his work ethic.

‘The man won three elections!’ she exclaimed, continuing, ‘he wakes up at four o’clock in the morning. He outworks people who are half his age.’

‘What does that say about his character? He’s paying it forward. He’s thinking about the other Republicans who have to win in this election. That tells me that he’s a great guy,’ she said while closing her speech.
