Disney is eliminating as many as 200 positions in its Experiences division, with most of the layoffs reportedly centered at the company’s Imagineering campus in Glendale. The move comes as the entertainment giant reassesses its priorities, investments and upcoming projects.
The cuts affect the division responsible for Disney’s theme parks, resorts and cruise lines, according to reports from Deadline and the Los Angeles Times.
The workforce reduction follows a routine review of Disney’s investments, strategic priorities and project schedules.
Employees affected by the layoffs were expected to receive notification by the end of Wednesday, the reports said. The reductions are confined to the Experiences division and do not represent a companywide round of job cuts.
Disney is making the changes as its biggest attractions continue to draw millions of visitors, although attendance has varied among its leading theme parks.
Disneyland Park in Anaheim recorded 17.4 million visitors, a 0.4% increase that placed it at No. 2 among theme parks worldwide, according to the Themed Entertainment Association.

Disney California Adventure, located next door, also saw attendance rise 0.4%, reaching 10.1 million guests.
Magic Kingdom in Florida remained the world’s most-visited theme park, welcoming 17.8 million people in 2025. Attendance at the park nevertheless fell 0.2% from the previous period.
Those attendance figures are closely tied to Disney’s financial performance.
Analysts track visitor numbers carefully because the Experiences division is a major contributor to the company’s overall results, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Even with strong crowds at several marquee attractions, Disney is examining how it distributes capital and oversees the timelines for major projects.
Neither report named the specific projects involved in the review or explained the factors behind individual employees’ layoffs.
