An 81-year-old woman was found dead inside her Queens residence Thursday, while police detained a person of interest as they investigated the circumstances.
Officers responding to a 911 call discovered Lillie Hill unconscious in her home on 146th Street between Sutter Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard in South Jamaica at about 3:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Hill was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.
Authorities subsequently brought an unidentified person of interest into custody in connection with the investigation.
No charges had been announced by late Thursday.

Officials have not yet disclosed how Hill died or what led to her death.
Images from the scene showed police gathered outside the fenced property, located only a few blocks from John F. Kennedy Airport.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is expected to determine Hill’s cause of death as detectives continue their investigation.
