A former FX writer has sued the network over alleged workplace safety and labor violations, including an incident in which she claims an “overworked” colleague brought a knife into the office.
Diara Bradley filed the lawsuit Sept. 30 in Santa Monica Superior Court. According to the complaint, she alleges that FX failed to accommodate her disability-related requests, denied her required meal breaks and did not pay her for working 50- to 60-hour weeks.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Bradley created social media content for popular series including “The Bear,” “Snowfall,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “American Horror Story.”
FX, formally FX Networks LLC, is owned by Disney and launched in 1994. Bradley’s portfolio also includes work on some of the network’s best-known shows, such as “Sons of Anarchy,” “Louie” and “Fargo.”
Bradley said she joined the company as an associate writer/producer in August 2021 and was terminated in June of this year, according to the lawsuit. She alleges that her firing was partly connected to her request for accommodations after her psychologist notified the company of her medical condition.
Bradley alleges that she faced several serious workplace safety concerns during her employment, including an incident involving an “overworked co-worker” who allegedly brought a knife into the office.

After reporting the incident, Bradley claims FX management took no corrective action against the colleague, according to the court filing.
She also alleges that the company failed to accommodate conditions including chronic migraines and back pain, which she says resulted “by a fall due to exhaustion at the worksite,” according to the lawsuit.
Bradley claims she was ultimately fired because of her disability, her accommodation request, her complaints about workplace safety and her wage-and-hour concerns, the suit alleges.
Bradley’s previous employers also include Cartoon Network, BET and CNN, according to her LinkedIn profile.
