Australian actor Tristan Rogers passed away on Friday morning, August 15, 2025, at the age of 79, following a battle with lung cancer. His lung cancer diagnosis had been publicly announced in July 2025.

Born on June 3, 1946, in Melbourne, Victoria, Rogers built a career in both Australia and the United States. He was best known for his long-running role as Robert Scorpio on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital and for voicing Jake the Kangaroo Mouse in Disney’s animated film The Rescuers Down Under.

Rogers began his acting career on Australian television, appearing in series such as Bellbird, Number 96 (1974), and The Box (1975). He was a regular in the police drama The Link Men (1970) and also made guest appearances in Barrier Reef, Division 4, and the 1976 miniseries Power Without Glory. His film credits in the early 1970s included British titles such as Four Dimensions of Greta (1972), The Flesh and Blood Show (1972), and Sex Farm (1973).

In addition to acting, Rogers starred in the award-winning short film Opportunity Knocks, which later attracted interest for a feature-length adaptation. Beyond his Disney role, he also lent his voice to the 2015 Mad Max video game and appeared in commercials for brands including Outback Steakhouse, Foster’s Lager, Reebok, and Epson.

His television career spanned decades, with roles such as Harry, a bar owner, in the Canadian racing drama Fast Track (1997–1998). Since 2010, he has portrayed Lex Martin in the soap opera web series The Bay. In 2019, his portrayal of Doc in the Amazon series Studio City earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series.

Rogers married Teresa Parkerson on May 21, 1995. Together, they had two children: Sara Jane (born August 25, 1992) and Cale (born August 1996).
