JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure stands as a towering icon in the world of anime and manga, renowned for its unique storytelling and captivating artistry. It’s no wonder that its creator, Hirohiko Araki, possesses a keen eye for quality. Recently, Araki has turned his attention to a burgeoning manga series that has caught the attention of fans around the globe, with an international release slated for 2026.
Hirohiko Araki has expressed admiration for Kaijin Fugeki: Kindled Spirits, a manga that made its debut in May 2024. In the latest volumes of this series, Araki praises its intricate world-building, a testament to its craftsmanship given the high standards set by the mind behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. This endorsement is likely to boost the manga’s growing reputation and allure among readers.
It’s common knowledge that the greatest manga creators are often fervent admirers of the medium. Their endorsements can act as a powerful catalyst for a manga’s success. This is certainly the case with Araki’s commendation of Kaijin Fugeki: Kindled Spirits, crafted by the talented Oh! great. Such praise from a luminary of Araki’s stature is not only an accolade but also a potent form of promotion for this rising series.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Hirohiko Araki Praises New Shonen Manga Hit Kaijin Fugeki
As most might expect, many of the biggest manga creators are also connoisseurs of the medium, with their approval of certain works coming off as veritable marketing for those titles. Such is the case with Hirohiko Araki, the creator behind the iconic JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise. This is in relation to the series Kaijin Fugeki: Kindled Spirits, a manga created by Oh! great.
Beginning back in May 2024, it’s currently on its seventh collected volume in Japan, with this volume featuring Araki’s praise on the cover. This newly revealed comment roughly translates as, “This is so precious! A truly godlike world of gods.” However, the word “precious” can also be translated as something like “sublime” or even “cute” in some contexts. In Japanese, the intention is more than obvious, and it’s a sign of approval from one of the industry’s own current creative gods himself.
The storyline of Kaijin Fudeki involves a mysterious phenomenon known as Nights, with these supernatural occurrences wreaking havoc whenever they happen. Main characters Jin and Gao are brought together because of these incidents, and they both dance to channel paranormal energy on their own to be able to combat what happens during these events. Combining science fiction with fantasy, it’s been praised for Oh! great’s mix of slower pacing and character moments with beautiful artwork.
Oh! great has created several other notable manga, including Air Gear, but the fact that the creator of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise is a fan of his current work is certainly some of the highest praise possible. Kaijin Fudeki‘s seventh manga volume just released in Japan, with the first coming out in the U.S. in January.
