The popular series Solo Leveling is set to expand its universe with the launch of a new trading card game this March. Excitingly, fans have just been treated to their first official glimpse of what’s in store.
In a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Bandai Namco unveiled a preview of the upcoming Solo Leveling trading cards. These cards are part of the Union Arena Trading Card Game, currently on display at the BCG Fest in Las Vegas.
The Union Arena game is renowned for bringing together characters from various anime, manga, and video games, allowing them to engage in thrilling battles. The game already features characters from popular series like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Kagurabachi. Now, Solo Leveling‘s protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, is poised to join the fray, ready to face off against iconic figures such as Gojo from JJK, Ichigo from Bleach, and Yusuke from YuYu Hakusho.
Union Arena is a cross-franchise trading card game that allows players to put their favorite anime, manga and video game characters against one another in epic battles. The game already has cards for Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man and even Kagurabachi, just to name a few. It was only a matter of time before Solo Leveling’s Sung Jinwoo got his chance to battle it out with the likes of JJK‘s Gojo, Bleach‘s Ichigo and YuYu Hakusho‘s Yusuke in the popular game.
New Solo Leveling Card Game Release Offers First Look at Sung Jinwoo and Cha Haein Designs
Solo Leveling’s new Union Arena TCG set was displayed at a panel at BCG Fest Las Vegas. The beautiful holographic cards showcase iconic characters like Sung Jinwoo, Beru, Igris and Cha Haein. There are even some surprising additions, like Lee Joohee, Choi Jongin and even Jinwoo’s sister, Sung Jinah. Two booster packs for the cards are scheduled for release on March 20 with two separate color schemes — one purple deck to represent Jinwoo’s Shadow Army, and the other green representing Jinwoo’s growth as a Hunter.
This won’t be the first-ever TCG card set that Solo Leveling has put out. In January 2025, Solo Leveling got its own Challenger deck for the Universus Card Game. In February, Solo Leveling also released a special trading card set, officially licensed by D&C Media (the publisher behind the manhwa and light novel) and created by Mapniverse. Clearly, Solo Leveling fans have plenty to keep them busy amid the ongoing wait for any news regarding the anime.
While Solo Leveling Season 3 still has no release date or even in-production announcement as of writing, the franchise has not been sleeping on Sung Jinwoo by any means. The series’ brand new video game, Solo Leveling: Karma, is scheduled for release this year, and even Fortnite just announced upcoming Solo Leveling skins for the hit battle royale game. Solo Leveling’s upcoming Union Arena card game release is just the latest in SL’s ever-growing gaming offering during its anime off-season.
The one other place the franchise has been lacking aside from the anime lately is its ongoing Solo Leveling: Ragnarok manhwa, which remains on indefinite hiatus following the conclusion of its second season at the start of the year. The video game franchise has even picked up the slack in that department, though, as Solo Leveling: Arise’s Hunter: Origin one-shot webtoon releases continue giving manhwa fans new Solo Leveling storylines to read. This includes the recent release of Igris’ backstory last month, and a look at brand-new Hunter Meri Laine’s own history on Feb. 12.
Seasons 1 and 2 of the Solo Leveling anime are available to watch on Crunchyroll, while the manga and light novel can be read in English via Tappytoon and the Tapas app.
