A newborn, only three weeks old, was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital on July 18, 2024, in critical condition but displayed no visible injuries.
Sadly, the infant passed away four days later while still in the hospital.
Following this tragic event, detectives from the Logan Child Protection Investigation Unit and the Child Trauma Unit initiated Operation Whiskey Nell to uncover the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
Recently, detectives obtained medical examination results indicating that the child had suffered internal injuries.
Authorities will argue that these injuries were inflicted at a residence on Rosemary Street in Greenbank.
A 25-year-old man, who was known to the child, was arrested this morning and subsequently charged with murder.
He is expected to face Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
