An 18-year-old will face court today after he was charged with sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney’s north.

A 36-year-old woman got off a bus in Neutral Bay about 3.30am on Thursday after she finished work.

While walking down Wycombe Road, police allege she was grabbed behind by a man.

He allegedly covered her mouth, interfered with her clothing, and pushed her against a garage door.

Police will allege he pinned the woman against the door before removing his pants.

The woman kicked and bit the man before he ran away towards Military Road.

A crime scene was established, with police starting an investigation into the incident.

An 18-year-old was arrested at Manly Police Station yesterday and charged with taking someone with the intent to commit an offence, inflicting bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse, and carrying out a sexual act without consent.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
