Police executed a search warrant at accused paedophile Colin Behan’s home yesterday and seized a number of devices after another child came forward to officers reporting further alleged indecent acts by the 78-year-old.

Detectives will allege he sent indecent messages to that child, to try to procure exploitation material, between July and November last year.

While officers were speaking with potential witnesses yesterday, they also received a report claiming he allegedly exposed himself to a woman in November.

Colin Behan faced court today on new charges of indecent treatment of a child under 16, using the internet to procure a child under 16, and performing an indecent act to insult or offend.

Despite police opposing bail, he was again released back into the community.

The new charges come after 9News confronted Behan earlier this week, when he was charged with the attempted rape and indecent treatment of a child under 12, at a toilet block in a Deception Bay park last Saturday.

“I’m just so ashamed at what happened,” he told 9News on Wednesday in relation to the charge of indecent treatment.

“That is something I should never have done, I should never have touched her.”

Behan said he “hates paedophilia”.

“I hate it, and I always have all my life, and I’ve never had anything whatsoever to do with anyone like this before.”

When asked if he touched a child, Behan said “yes”.

“That’s what I can’t explain to myself,” he said.

Behan is due back before a magistrate on March 5.
