Major flood warnings have been issued for the Logan and Albert rivers in Queensland this morning.

Minor flooding is occurring at Beaudesert, with moderate to major flooding possible from late this morning, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

Flooding is likely to develop along the Albert River and further downstream along the Logan River from late Saturday.

Along the Logan, major flooding is possible up to Yarrahappini.

At Beaudesert, the river is at 6.12 metres and rising, as of about 4.30am AEST.

The BoM warns it may exceed both the moderate flood level (7.8m) and major flood level (8.3m) from late this morning. Further rises are possible.

Downstream of Yarrahappini, moderate flooding is forecast, though river levels are lower.

At Maclean Bridge, it’s at 4.49m and rising, below the 10m minor flood level.

But the Bureau warns it may exceed that by this evening, and may surpass the moderate flood level of 13.5m overnight into Sunday.

At Waterford, the Logan is at 1.7 and rising. The minor flood level there is 6m, and the BoM said minor to moderate flooding could happen tomorrow.

At Parklands, it’s at 1.39m and rising with the tide but below the minor flood level of 2.5m. Minor to moderate flooding may happen on Sunday.

The Albert River, meanwhile, ias at 2.95m at Wolffdene and steady, but is likely to exceed the minor flood level of 6m this afternoon and the moderate level of 8m this evening.

At Beenleigh the Albert is at 1.47m and falling with the tide.

Minor to moderate flooding may happen overnight and into Sunday.
