A 27-year-old man has been charged over an alleged antisemitic video filmed in a Sydney hospital.
Investigators from Strike Force Pearl, a NSW police task force that focuses on antisemitism, arrested Ahmed Rashid Nadir at Sutherland station on Tuesday evening.
He was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence, as well as possession of a prohibited drug.
His 26-year-old colleague, Sarah Abu Lebdeh
The duo allegedly bragged about refusing to treat Israeli patients and killing them instead in the clip, which has drawn widespread condemnation.
Nadir has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court in late March. Last month, he was taken to hospital for assessment after paramedics were called to his Bankstown home following a “concern for welfare” report.
Abu Lebdeh has been barred from leaving Australia and using social media as her case gets underway.

According to NSW Police commissioner Karen Webb, 15 people have been arrested and 78 charges made since Strike Force Pearl was created in December to respond to a wave of antisemitic incidents across Sydney.

“I must commend the work … detectives are doing to investigate, charge and put these individuals before the courts,” Webb said in a statement on Wednesday.

“There is a tremendous amount of dedication and hard work going into all these investigations.”
