A third man has been charged over the alleged assault of two off-duty police officers in Sydney’s Inner West last week.
The 22-year-old was arrested yesterday afternoon in Enmore and will front court today over the alleged assaults last week.
He has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assault in the company of others.
The two constables, both aged 25, were walking on Enmore Road in Newtown when they came across three men having an argument about 11pm last Wednesday.
It’s alleged both officers were assaulted, with one repeatedly punched and kicked to the head and left unconscious before an off-duty nurse helped perform CPR on him until paramedics arrived.
He was taken to hospital in a stable condition before being released.
The second officer was also taken to hospital with facial injuries but later released.
Police arrested an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old man at a home in Mascot last Wednesday.
Both have been charged and remain before the court.
