Out of the 39 individuals, 25 are identified as having obstacles to employment, meaning they have been on JobSeeker benefits for at least a year.
“Essential needs like medication and dental care, which many of us often take for granted, are inaccessible to them,” remarked Kasy Chambers, the executive director of Anglicare Australia.
Chambers criticized the existing employment system, stating that it falls short in assisting those who are most in need of job opportunities.

The overall number of job advertisements has also been steadily declining over the past three years, according to figures from the Internet Vacancy Index, with the sharpest drop (37 per cent) among entry-level roles.
The report noted that the employment of checkout operators and cashiers had fallen by 20.6 per cent over the past five years, according to federal government figures, which reflected the rise of self-service technology.
