A property developer has announced a significant partnership with the Trump Organisation to erect a towering skyscraper on Australia’s Gold Coast. This ambitious project promises to reshape the skyline with a six-star tower reaching an impressive height of 340 metres across 91 storeys.
David Young, the chief executive of Altus Property Group, shared his enthusiasm for the project, describing the future edifice as a landmark development for Surfers Paradise. “This is the ideal location for the affluent, and it will be completed before the Olympics, adding an exciting tourism dimension to the Games,” Young stated.
The proposed Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast has been a vision Young has pursued for nearly two decades. He confidently anticipates that the development will claim the title of Australia’s tallest building before the decade concludes, marking a significant milestone in architectural and tourism advancements for the region.
“The natural home to the well-heeled, and it will be finished before the Olympics start, creating a tourism adjunct to the Games themselves,” he said.
“The Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast development I’ve been pursuing for almost 20 years is going to be Australia’s tallest building before the end of the decade.”
But the proposal is far from a done deal, with the Gold Coast City Council saying that a development application was yet to be received.
Acting Gold Coast mayor Mark Hammell said in a statement that the Gold Coast welcomed investment in the city, as it displayed confidence and helped create jobs.
“A formal development application will be required, and we look forward to considering the application once it is received,” he said.
Young said the design of the tower would follow the same Trump design manual used for properties currently being built in Jeddah and Saudi Arabia.
One third of the building would function as a six-star hotel with another third to include 270 apartments.
