Police continue to search areas around Gin Gin and Bundaberg as they investigate the disappearance of 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop, more than a week after she was last seen.

Pheobe had a ticket to travel to Western Australia via Brisbane last Thursday to visit her boyfriend, but she never checked in for her flight at Bundaberg Airport.

Her roommates were the last people to see her when they dropped her outside the airport at 8.30am.

But police say she never entered the terminal.

“Police have reviewed CCTV from the airport, which indicates that she did not enter the terminal,” Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson said.

The car Pheobe’s roommates used to take her to the airport, a grey Hyundai ix35, and a house in Gin Gin where the three of them lived together, are now active crime scenes.

Police this morning confirmed no one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are working to piece together Pheobe’s movements on May 15 and have asked the public to come forward with dash cam or CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35, with Queensland registration 414EW3, near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area.

Pheobe’s boyfriend told 9News yesterday that he was devastated and couldn’t believe the situation was real but was holding up okay.

Phoebe’s mum, Kylie Johnson, said the family’s “heartache and pain is raw and real”.

“We as a family are trying to hang onto the light of life that is our Free Spirited Gypsy Soul Phee Phee,” she posted on Facebook.

“Phee we need you home, we need to hear your sassy voice and feel your hugs.”

Family members have handed out more than 400 missing person flyers across Bundaberg and Gin Gin and have been searching rivers and bushland.

Pheobe is described as approximately 180 centimetres tall with a pale complexion, long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes.

She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey tracksuit pants.
