NSW Police say they are closing in on a number of youths who allegedly punched and kicked staff members at a caravan park on the NSW Central Coast.

A group of about 30 children allegedly let themselves into the pool area at Budgewoi Holiday Park on Sunday when two staff members asked them to leave.

The interaction turned violent when the youths allegedly began kicking and punching the workers in groups of three to four at a time, including in the head and while the alleged victims were on the floor.

The incident was caught on camera.

Bystanders were forced to intervene and break up the fight and the group walked away.

NSW Police Superintendent Chad Gillies said the alleged offenders would either be arrested and charged or dealt with under the Youth Offenders Act.

“We have identified a number of young people that we do want to speak to as part of our investigation,” Gillies said.

“It was a violent attack, it’s unacceptable – in a holiday area where families go to have a good time, I can’t stand that.”

The holiday park staff told 9News they were “frustrated and fearful” with some even considering quitting their jobs, saying incidents like this “happen every week.”
