Detectives have unveiled images and video footage of seven individuals they wish to identify in connection with an alleged assault on Victorian police officers during a protest last month.

This initiative follows a March for Australia demonstration that took place in Melbourne’s city center. The protest escalated into violence when a faction of anti-racism counter-demonstrators clashed with law enforcement, resulting in officers being injured by large rocks and other projectiles hurled in their direction.

Earlier this week, authorities released images of eight people believed to be involved, coinciding with the arrest of a man from Corio. This individual was apprehended last week and now faces multiple charges after reportedly throwing a rock at a first constable during the October 19 protest.

With this latest release, the number of individuals police seek to identify has grown to 15. The ongoing investigation is a testament to the authorities’ commitment to bringing those responsible for the violence to justice.

There are now images of 15 people police are looking to identify.

Detectives have been investigating the rally, where it is alleged a counter-protest group attended and tossed rocks, glass bottles and rotten fruit at police.

Two police officers were injured and had to be transported to hospital.

Other officers were hit with projectiles with enough force to crack their protective shields.

A wand used by police to detect weapons was also stolen.

A 24-year-old man from Corio was charged with multiple offences last week, including reckless conduct endangering a person, assaulting police and discharging a missile.

He was directly presented to the court, where he was bailed to appear on November 20.

Images have been released of a further seven people who were seen near Spring Street and Exhibition Street on October 19.
