Police are investigating the shooting of a man during a burglary in South-East Queensland overnight.

Events began about 9.55pm yesterday when offenders attempted to break into a business at Logan River Road in Beenleigh, in the city of Logan.

When their efforts were interrupted by a man and woman, both aged 51, at the premises, the man was shot in the leg before the offenders ran away.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and the man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The woman was not physically injured. 

Police declared a crime scene at the business and investigations are ongoing to find those involved. 

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information or CCTV/dashcam to come forward.
