New video has emerged of one of NSW’s most notorious prisoners being punched and stabbed in a violent attack inside Goulburn Supermax prison.

Brothers for Life founder Bassam Hamzy was viciously attacked when a fellow inmate pulled out a homemade knife, stabbing Hamzy in the neck before punching him repeatedly.

Hamzy is captured on video attempting to protect and defend himself from the sudden attack.

A prison guard is seen on video standing on the other side of the door, but he does not intervene until Hamzy had seemingly been knocked unconscious.

The man allegedly responsible for the attack is believed to be part of a rival prison gang.

Hamzy has been in prison since 2002 after being charged with the murder of Kris Toumazis outside of a Sydney nightclub.

While in prison, he converted to Islam and founded Brothers for Arms in 2007, which has become one of Sydney’s most notorious criminal gangs,

Hamzy has been a target for attack in prison before, brawling with Talal Alameddine in a prison yard in 2019.

In 2023, he was also involved in a brawl with convicted murderer Ricky McNamara.

The attack happened in Febuary last year.

Police charged 28 year old Lofu Namulauulu over the incident with four offences including participating in a criminal group.

9News understands that gang is known as Bloodline – a relatively new syndicate from South West Sydney.
